This week in 6LM:

Adwaya has gone bananas!

Adwaya was so excited to show us his project today. He had used a banana and an orange along with his micro bit to create a musical instrument! He programmed his micro bit and set up the circuit so when the fruits were tapped, a sound was heard. I thought this was fantastic! Well done, Adwaya.

The Spanish Conquistadors

This week we have been learning about the discoveries of the Spanish conquistadors. We have enjoyed some drama and are looking forward to using the green screen to film these.

    Arithmetic
    4 % of 700 = 28

    8% of x 1,200 =96
    6/9 – 3/8 =21/72
    16/18+3/27= 1 or a whole or 486

    mini maths

    7.5cm = 75mm
    5.4km =5400 m
    1.7kg =1700 g
    35 divided by 7385 =211
    2,299×54 =124146
    5,499 +2,298= 7,697

    Have a nice weekend!

  3. To find 1%, I must divide by 100.

    Then, I can multiply by the number of percent I need. Eg. 27% = x 27

    35o) 4% of 700 = 28
    35p) 8% x 1200 = 96
    36o) 6/9 – 3/8 = 21/72 = 7/24
    36p) 16/18 + 3/27 = 8/9 + 1/9 = 1 = 9/9

    1) 7.5cm = 75mm
    2)5.4km = 5400m
    3) 1.7kg = 1700g
    4) 7385 / 35 = 211
    5) 2299 x 54 = 124146
    6) 5499 + 2298 = 7797
    7) 5499 – 3208 = 2291
